Traditional art inspired by the whenua…

Te Tauihu Taonga is a small family business based in Blenheim, Marlborough and specialises in one-off pieces carved from pakohe, also known as argilite.

Each piece is beautifully packaged and has a unique kōrero (story) that accompanies it.  All pakohe is hand sourced from the local awa (river) to ensure the final product is nothing less than exceptional quality.

The calibre and detail of Lewis’s work has placed it in high demand with both local and international customers.

Lewis is regularly invited to display his taonga in many of the art galleries and museums in Te Tauihu (Top of the South Island, NZ).
